NAS Kingston branch
A branch of the National Autistic Society
Welcome to the website of the NAS Kingston upon Thames branch!
The branch was formerly called SWAPS, which stands for South West Autistic Parents' Support group. It was a group based in Kingston-upon-Thames that was set up by parents with children on the autism spectrum. In 1999, the group affiliated to the National Autistic Society and is now an official local branch of the NAS.
The branch welcomes all parents and carers with children on the autistic spectrum, and organises a number of activities as well as acting as a source of information on local events/services.
It is completely free to join the branch and enables you to access our activities and to receive regular updates via email of local events/services. Please join us - the more members we have, the stronger we are! To join, please go to our membership page.
The Kingston Branch of the National Autistic Society:
• Runs monthly Sunday play sessions at Warren Park
• Arranges talks/workshops by professional speakers on topics such as behaviour, sleep, toileting etc.
• Organises an annual children's Christmas Party with entertainer and Father Christmas
• Raise awareness of autism locally.
Autism is a lifelong disability that affects how a person communicates with, and relates to, other people. It also affects how they make sense of the world around them.
There is no known “cure” for autism. But the right support can transform lives.
We hope you enjoy browsing our website!
